Thank you Anne for your help, everything went very smoothly. I was talking to another Kiwi who ended up travelling on the same flights as me (Auckland to LA, and then to Newark) and he was quite jealous of my wonderful travel agent who had given me nice short layovers. Once he found there was an earlier flight to Newark he was quick to get his flight changed!
